Shamelessly Addicted to Technology

Hey Beauties…It’s me again back with our latest blog post. Now I have to tell you over the years I have totally turned into a tech geek! At this point I don’t think there’s any part of my life that does not involve technology. Dare I say I may be a bit addicted to technology??? As many of you  may know I am a lost soul without my iphone! Just last month while shopping for pieces for our new location I accidentally left  my phone home. By the time I realized I forgot it home I decided I was too far to turn back and figured I could make it through an afternoon of shopping without it…..WRONG!! I was totally lost without it. I couldn’t take pictures, I had questions and I couldn’t text anyone on our team for answers. Needless to say I was totally frustrated and disgusted. However,  I was able to select items and pick up the essentials we needed for our new space although I was not nearly as efficient as I would have been if I had my phone. Then to top everything off, now I’m standing on a long line without any apps to help me pass the time away!! ……Oh what  in the world did I do before technology became such an integral part of my life?

Beauties are any of you out there as obsessed with technology as I am? If you are leave a comment and let us know what you think!

Would you like to see more blog posts & videos  on how we use technology & apps on a daily basis? If you do please leave your comments below.

Have a beautiful week Beauties!

How I'm Eco Friendly 24/7/365

Hey Beauties! It's Good Friday & Earth Day....Now how often does this occur?

Today I would like to know how many of you are actually "eco-friendly" on a daily basis? Lord knows I try but I'm not always succesful. Here's what I do.

1. Re-usable Shopping Bags - I absolutely love them, they hold so much more than those annoying plastic shopping bags. I live in NYC so I have steps to climb just make it to the front door of my apartment building. Carrying one or two re-usable bags is much easier than stumbling up steps with six or seven bags.....The only problem is sometimes I forget to take them out the trunk when I get to the supermarket....Yes, I live in NYC and I drive to the market (don't judge me). I told you I try but I'm not always succesful.

2. Plastic Take Out Containers - Those plastic take out containers have now become my own personal Tupperware collection. They're perfect for storing left overs and sending those friends and family members that don't like to return your good plastic containers home with food.

3. Donate Everything - My new moto is donate, donate, donate. If there's something that I need to replace that's in good condition I donate it. That means everything from clothing to printers. I've learned if there's something I can't use there is always someone else who can.

Happy Earth Day Beauties!

Going Green Wednesday: Just Throw it in the Bag

Not to sound so stereo typical, but, one of my all time favorite things is shopping!! Whether it's clothing, shoes, home decor, food....I think you get the point, I just love it. But, your probably wondering what my love of shopping has to do with going green? Well, the truth is, now when I know that I'm going out to shop for clothing or anything that requires a bag I try very hard to remember to bring my own re-usable bag. Over the summer while doing a bit of shopping in Soho I noticed a lot of the bigger brand retail stores were offering re-usable bags and that really made me take notice. I've been using my own bags when I go to the grocery store for months now why not for all purchases that require a bag? The pic above shows my oh so chic Target (I'm pronouncing it Tar-jae)bag. What? You didn't know I'm a frugalista fashionista....LOL. The icing on the cake for me is that Target gives you a credit of 5 cents every time you BYOB (bring your own bag). It's a nickel, but hey, I am a frugalista ;-).

What are your thoughts on this? How often do you BYOB for your purchases?

Going Green Wednesday: Do You Have This Issue?

These days I’m trying just as hard as everyone else to do all I can to lessen my personal carbon footprint. I must admit that I am proud of myself because I am doing better than I expected. You see, I am a person that loves convenience some of you may call it being lazy, but, I prefer the term “personal convenience”. I am, wait a minute let me rephrase that. I used to be the type of person that would send shirts to the dry cleaners just so I wouldn’t have to iron. Please don’t judge me I went to Catholic school and my mother made me iron five shirts every Sunday; so you feel my pain now? So when I decided to seriously take my responsibility for the excess waste I was creating , I decided to eliminate or cut back on many things and dry cleaning was one of them. Don’t get me wrong I still send items like my winter coats to the dry cleaners. But by cutting back on this one convenience that made my life so much easier, I’m eliminating the use of the extra plastic that is used to cover my clothing.

An Afternoon Shopping

Saturday afternoon my sister Siica (she's the Sii in Ni-da-sii) and I spent the afternoon doing something we love to do and that's shopping. As I have confessed before I am a product junky and so is my little sister. One of the stores we hit while shopping Saturday afternoon was Sephora. I have an event coming up in a few weeks and I will have to restock on some of my bare minimum cosmetic essentials. For me that would be mascara, bronzer and gloss. I cant say the same for my sister. She is a total nut for makeup. She can spend hours oggling over all the eye shadows, glosses, mascara and hues of lipstick. Needless to say we entered the store at 2pm and did not leave until a little after 3:30pm. My, my were does the time go?
